Pasta for Peace

We went to an event organized at a church in Wayside NJ. Tricia and Anne both spoke, as well as one of the main organizers. They also had a singer, Spook Handy (?). He was a riot.

It was basically a successful event, but, again, I start getting ansy whenever I go to these things and come across the one speaker who starts talking about things like conspiracy theories and the "evil government" thing. That is what the organizer did. It is such a turn off and I wish that there was some way avoid that.

We need some great speakers as part of this movement in NJ and I am electing myself as one. Of course, I don't really know if I could be great speaker, but, hey, I was in the drama club! I was a singer with my own band for 12 years, for crying out loud. I think I can inspire people without the foray into "big brother is watching you."

WE are big brother. WE need to tell our government what to do. We don't. We ignore our responsibility and then blame the politicians.

Hi Garine,

Thanks for the nice sentence about my music. I had a lot of fun.

I am a full time musician dedicated to making this world a better place. Actually, I'm dedicated to helping people get the most spiritually from living in this world. And this includes working for a better world. Note that the first sentence of this paragraph refers to a goal of having a better world. And the second sentence refers to the journey associated with creating a better world. I'm dedicated to the journey.

You folks at DoP are doing such a great service for the world. And I see your work as very journey oriented. Whether or not we succeed in creating a DoP and if so, whether or not the DoP is a well functioning department that fulfills it's purpose, along the way to achieving the goal we get to work with some of the best people on this planet. And I met a bunch of them at Pasta for Peace.

Finally, I would like to say something that is both self serving and community serving. Please help spread the word about my music. Musicians and other artists like me who don't make any money supporting the corporate interests of the world depend on support from the limited resources of the arts, peace, environmental and similar communities. I could land a high paying corporate gig tomorrow, but I choose to devote my time and energy to supporting the causes in which I believe. So please think about me or any other artist that does this when you have future events - peace oriented or otherwise. Let's get the word out thru music as well as thru other mediums.

Thanks for all of your wonderful work.

Whatcha Gonna Do?

Hi again,

One point about the speaker talking about conspiracy theory. I'm with you on that.

I certainly think it's vitally important to acknowledge the obstacles we face. For without doing so we remain blind and less powerful to create change. So let's acknowledge them.

But that should only be one stepping stone toward the greater focus of our mission: "Whatcha Gonna Do" to support peace?

Once the beacon is lighted we can see the obstacles and steer around them to work more efficiently toward or goal of peace.

Let's acknowledge the obstacles but dwell on the solutions.

You're the best
